Ignorance is bliss
The phrase ignorance is bliss means that lacking knowledge can make you happy. Ignorance is 'ignoring' or not having knowledge. Bliss is an overwhelming feeling of happiness.
The phrase comes from a 1742 Poem by Thomas Gray called Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College. In his poem, Gray is thinking about his younger years, before he learned about the world. Then he goes on to list all of the pains and hardships of the character before concluding with, " where ignorance is bliss, 'Tis folly to be wise." And I think kids are a great example of 'ignorance is bliss' because they haven't experienced paying bills, heart break, responsibilities. Children get to run around, have fun and BE KIDS.
Example: "Look at my kids. They don't know that I need to work 2 jobs just to buy them food. Oh, ignorance is bliss."
