Lesson 1 - All About Me
I gave the students a quick survey to get an idea of what their interests are.
Then I explained about the class and the students wrote about themselves.
Lesson 2 - Placement Test
Since there were too many students, I had them take a placement test to start the semester. We took up the answers this day.

We studied the Bare Naked Ladies song of the same name.

Lesson 4 - Conditional Sentences
We continued on from the BNL song, to study conditional sentences.
Lesson 5 - Joseph Merrick
The students were very interested in learning more about Joseph Merrick after studying "If I Had a Million Dollars" song.

Lesson 6 - The Fisherman and His Wife
We read the story of The Fisherman and His Wife.
We didn't have time for the Go Fish game, so it is addressed in the next lesson.

Lesson 7 - Go Fish
We looked at the difference between Have, Has, Had.
We played Go Fish.
Lesson 8 - Red Fish, Blue Fish
We read the Dr. Seuss book, "Red Fish, Blue Fish"
Students also created their own make belief animal.
Lesson 9 - Deep Sea Creatures
The students learned about deep sea creatures. They cut and pasted them into the correct depths on a worksheet.
Lesson 10 - Coral Reefs
We looked at the different types of coral reefs and stuff you might find in them.
Lesson 11 - Oceans and Continents
We named and discussed oceans and continents.

Lesson 12 - Longitude / Latitude
Students learned how to read map coordinates.
They used this information to complete a worksheet. I did not make this worksheet, but the information is at the bottom of the page.
Lesson 13 - Countries
We played around with some maps and students used Smart pads to find answers to a crossword.

Lesson 15 - National Symbols
We reviewed the last lesson and studied national symbols and animals.

We learned about national sports and flowers before students made their own country.
The students had to create a flag and make national symbols for their country which they could present.
Lesson 16 - Superhero Fight
We created our own superheros and had 'fights' with them.

We read a comic (Tiny Titans) about superheros and drew some clothes on blank heroes
Lesson 18 - Super Powers
We read another comic from Tiny Titans (Tiny Titans). and learned about super powers.
I gave the students some homework but they mostly didn't.

Lesson 19 - Mad Libs
We continued our series of comics (Tiny Titans) and looked at some parts of speech.
Students learned how to recognize adjectives, verb, nouns, etc.
Lesson 20 - Story Telling
We learned about some facets out of stories.
Students then cut and pasted a story. They didn't have enough time, so we continued on the next class.
Lesson 21 - About Me
A new group of students joined, so i had them do a little introduction activity while the other students worked on their comic strips
Lesson 22 - Fingerprints
We started our series on crime scene analysis. Students took their own fingerprints using an ink pad. Then they analyzed their fingerprints.
Lesson 23 - Suspects
We studied adjectives using the idea of suspects. We played some games (Find the Suspect) and had to draw pictures based on picture clues.
Lesson 24 - A Good Detective
We learned a little more about being a detective.
Then we played a Murder Mystery. The type of deduction that they needed to use was a little bit high. I think if they had more time they would have figured it out.
Print the slides at the end and have students be those characters. All the students can be detectives and can ask questions to try to figure out who stole the jewelry.
Lesson 25 - Evidence Collection
We looked at the difference between evidence and proof as well as different types of evidence.
I created an elaborate CSI ppt game for the students to play. It took me a week to make and just a few minutes for them to solve, lol.
You should play this role and not show the paper, but answer students questions.
Lesson 27 - Monster Manners
We read "Monster Manners" (Amazon Link) and looked at manners and adjectives.
Lesson 28 - Monster Manners
We studied animal body parts and adjectives.
Students wrote about monsters and then I randomly gave out the descriptions for other students to draw.
Lesson 29 - Lilo and Stitch
We read some lilo and stitch (Amazon Link) comics and played a spelling game (Link).
Lesson 30 - Monster Card Game
Students created their own cards for a game.
Lesson 31 - Carrot Zombies
We watched "Night of the Living Carrots" on Netflix (Neflix Link).
We played some games and drew monsters.
Minion Party
As a reward for a student completing their flower (described in lesson 1), we had a minion themed party
